About: Street addresses aren’t accurate enough to specify precise locations, such as building entrances, and don’t exist for parks and many rural areas.
This makes it hard to find places and prevents people from describing exactly where help is needed in an emergency.
We have divided the world into 3m squares and given each square a unique combination of three words. what3words addresses are easy to say and share, and as accurate as GPS coordinates.
From us: We had the privilege of crafting a tailor-made map site in collaboration with the pioneering navigation startup, What3words. Our project involved the creation of a dynamic React application, enriched by an extensive library of components meticulously curated within Storybook.
We collaborated closely with the talented Design team, synergizing our efforts to conceptualize and bring to life these components, complete with captivating interactions and fluid animations. One of the project’s notable achievements was the seamless integration of multiple map APIs, including Google Maps, Esri, and Mapbox, harmoniously overlaying the What3Words grid and pin to ensure precise location identification.
Furthermore, our unwavering commitment to accessibility led us to design the site and its components with responsiveness in mind, guaranteeing a flawless user experience across all devices.
Technological prowess played a pivotal role in our execution, with ReactJS, Storybook, React SketchApp, CSS, HTML, Webpack, and RESTful APIs comprising the wide spanning toolkit employed to achieve our goal. Our dedication to delivering quality and excellence shines through in this project.
